Yeah, we get a little funny about snow here in Seattle. It just doesn't snow enough for us to get used to it. Here are some pics to document the experience!
Walking in a winter wonderland...
One word...BRRRRRR
What do they say about "Red sky in the morning..."? That's what my sky looks like right now...more snow forecast this afternoon.
We made it on the national news- just heard about us on Good Morning America as I am making this entry. I'm sure people in North Dakota (or Prophetstown, IL) are laughing at us! The excitement (and national notoriaty) will soon be coming to an end....rain on Thursday and mid 40's - phew. It'll be balmy compared to our overnight low of 10.
Stay warm out there...and Stac - were those flannel lined jeans that you had on when you were showing off your socks? I could use a pair of those right about now!
I need help with this formatting thing! Maybe I should read the directions? Hate having to do that!

ooooppsss...long time no post....

Alaska cont'd.... Elizabeth (on the right) and her cousin Brianne enjoying a bonfire (courtesy of Uncle Tim) in the rain. Elizabeth and Brianne roasting marshmallows on the beach with Aunt the rain (seems we did a lot of the rain). That was a hard fire to light...needed gas from the truck to start it...they didn't taste all that great. :) But Elizabeth didn't care!

Elizabeth (on the left) and Brianne running through the grass by the cabin. They had a lot of fun together when they weren't at each other's throats. :)

Well..all for now...I'm pooped after a long day at "the other house"....have a good night!

P.S. Sorry for the bad layout...I'm new at this!

H a p p y N o v e m e b er !
wow...what happened to August - or May for that matter?!
Not a whole lot to post, so I thought I would share my favorite picture of me and Paul (that would be my husband). It was taken in Alaska. His family owns a summer cabin (shack maybe?) in Gustavus near Juneau. Anyway...he tries to go up every year and after 9 years, Elizabeth and I went too - along with about 10 other family members who came and went during our time there. So, towards the end of the trip those of us that were still there decided to go have a fire on the beach (in between rain showers). We stopped off at some weird girls camp out in the flatland near the water. And...we took my favorite picture there.
Alaska was an awesome trip and it was the coolest thing to see my husband in "his element". He went up a week before us (for some serious man-fishing) and when he picked us up from the airport in this totally beat-up truck that he had to work to keep running, he had an orange baseball cap on (never seen that before!) and the most relaxed smile I have EVER seen on his face. I will never forget it - it was that cool.
I'll post more pictures of Alaska later, but right now my biscuits are burning....and that cute husband of mine is due home any minute for dinner. Gotta go!
Well, I guess I did have something to post.....

T R I C K - OR - T R E A T !
Here's Miss Elizabeth - wait, she forgot to put her costume on! ;)
First stop - Paula's house!
It was a cold, dark night....
And the angel finds a warm, soft spot to rest her weary wings and thaw out her toes.
Night All!

I LOVE "fall back" on the time change. I got enough sleep and still have some time to do a quick post! It's a beatiful fall morning here in Arlington. It's breezy, dark grey clouds with a bit of sunshine peeking through.

Elizabeth and I raked up the leaves from our maple tree yesterday. Wanna see what we woke up to?! Here ya go...

Elizabeth's comment...."Get me the chainsaw!"

Here's Elizabeth in the maple tree yesterday (when she still liked it):

This is the pumpkin Elizabeth carved last night. We were working over at our other house and our FABULOUS neighbors invited us over for dinner and pumpkin carving. It was one of those completely unplanned events that was really fun and just what I needed!

Well - all for now...I better get started on the rest of my day.

Happy Fall!

OK...let's see if I can do a quick Post #3 - for those of you that are "watching". When you are incredibly busy with a house remodel, but have an urge to camp, where do you go - to the backyard of course! Yes, Mom....remember that night I was talking to you on the phone and Elizabeth told me Paul was going to set up the tent? Remember how I said I was having nothing to do with it? Well...they suckered me into it. In fact, I had to set up the tent.....because Paul couldn't figure it out. So, here are some pictures from our "camping trip" this summer. :) That poor marshmallow, it doesn't know what it's in for! Marshmallow Flambe! MMMM...S'mores. I think we stopped at three, plus a few extra marshmallows. Gotta get that annual quota in, ya know!

BUDDY! Get off my pillow! Yes, our 95 lb puppy slept in the tent too.

So, that was our big camp-out. Must was awfully nice to go inside and make coffee with a coffee maker in Coleman stove or campfire to fight with. And this campsite even came with a dishwasher!

All for now - see ya at the next post!

Here it is...the much anticipated...POST #2!

Fall color in the front yard.

The crew's here and ready to lay the new floor. Top to bottom, we have Lizzie, Paul and Buddy. That's me - behind the camera.

How DOES he get any work done?! Could this be the reason we are so far behind?

Wa-La....zee bamboo floor. There's the fireplace we sandblasted - THAT was an adventure! The splotches on the wall? It's the latest paint trend..called Modern Indecisive!

Here's what the living room looked like before we tore it apart. This picture just doesn't do justice to the cold gray feeling it had.

This way to the deck. Watch your step! That white plastic lattice might be the only thing holding it together....better get the duct tape!

All for now.....see you at Post #3

Post #1 I thought I would take a stab at blogging in order to share what we are up to with those far away - and those nearby that we never see anymore! If you think we dropped off the face of the's why:

Ahh....the house....the second house.....the beautiful "pink" 70's daylight basement house. That's the yard after I removed about 500 of those small-ish, "pink" retaining wall bricks. Yep, me, I moved 'em all - 6 at a time with the wheelbarrow.

These are the bricks as I found them.

They have been laid to my driveway. They will soon be listed for sale on Craigslist....75 cents each - interested?

I have more pictures.....for post #2 coming up shortly....can't seem to add them to this one.
